Miguel Paiva Antunes currently drives the NewLaw initiative at PwC Portugal, focusing his work on clients’ digital transformation projects and the continuous pursuit of technological solutions to legal challenges.
His work in the context of NewLaw includes projects to optimize legal departments, streamline and automate contractual processes (including Contract Lifecycle Management/CLM), and to promote and support the adoption of Legal AI solutions.
He has dedicated his professional career to Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), taking part in a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly acquisitions and disposals of companies, mergers, demergers, joint venture agreements, and corporate restructurings across various industries, including energy, manufacturing, hospitality and tourism, healthcare, real estate, infrastructure, telecommunications, IT, financial institutions, insurance, and private equity.
As part of PwC’s partnership with Unicorn Factory, he regularly delivers training sessions to scale-ups and is currently responsible for the Legal Due Diligence preparation module of the Scaling Up Program.
Before joining PwC’s legal team, he was part of the Corporate M&A team at the Lisbon office of Linklaters LLP (2011 to 2019). During this period, Miguel completed a secondment with the legal team of a financial services client that is part of an international group.
