Carlos José Rodrigues is a Partner in the Audit and Advisory Division, as part of the Financial Services group.

Professional Experience

He has more than 20 years of professional experience on general audit activity focused primarily on financial sector entities, of which the following stand out: Grupo Banco Montepio, Grupo Novo Banco, Grupo Itaú BBA International, Grupo Banco Popular Portugal, Banco BIG Online, Grupo Banco Millennium BIM (Moçambique), Banco Fomento de Angola, Banco Caixa Geral Angola, Standard Bank de Angola, Grupo BAI (Angola, Europa e Cabo Verde), Banco de Desenvolvimento de Angola, Banco BNI, Banco BNI Europa, Ecobank Cabo Verde, Banco Português de Gestão, IBCO – Gestão de Patrimónios, Intermoney Portugal – Sociedade Financeira de Corretagem, Orey Financial and others.

Has been part of the coordination team of credit impairment assessment projects and was one of the leaders of the Special Inspection Program in 2011 (SIP), the Onsite Inspection Program in 2012 (OIP), the cross-impairment review program of loans portfolios (Exercício Transversal de Revisão da Imparidade de Carteira de Crédito” - ETRICC) in 2013 and the Asset Quality Review (AQR) in 2014. These programs covered the largest Portuguese banks and were requested by the Portuguese authorities (Banco de Portugal) and internationals (BCE, FMI e EU). During these programs he integrated the teams of Banif (SIP), Caixa Económica Montepio Geral (SIP), BES (ETRICC), Caixa Central de Crédito Agrícola (OIP e ETRICC) and Millennium bcp (OIP e AQR).

Has conducted several advisory projects (e.g. evaluations, implementation of IFRS, Basel II) in several entities, in particular Central Bank of Mozambique (transition from the banking sector to IFRS – Grupo BCI); Central Bank of Cape Verde (transition from the banking sector to IFRS – CECV); Group Millennium bcp (financial due diligence); GE Money (Basel II); Caixa Económica de Angra do Heroís o (Basel II).
