Maria Torres is a Tax Partner at PwC Portugal, specializing in Deals Tax, and responsible for the firm's Social Responsibility area, also assuming the role of Diversity & Inclusion Leader.
Maria has a very significant experience working with national and multinational groups in different tax areas, in setting-up and restructuring international corporate structures and structuring investment and financing into Portugal. During her more than 20 years of experience in deals, she has been involved in a number of large transactions in different activity sectors, including privatization processes, working with corporate clients and private equities.

Professional background
Maria started her career at investment banking, moving to PwC in 1997. She is a Partner and responsible for Deals Tax since 2010. She is also Arbitrator Judge of the Tax Arbitration Court in Portugal.
