Maria Torres is a Partner at PwC Portugal, leading the Deals Tax business unit. She is also the Lead for Diversity & Inclusion.
Maria has a very significant experience working with national and multinational groups in different tax areas, in setting-up and restructuring international corporate structures and structuring investment and financing into Portugal. During her more than 20 years of experience in deals, she has been involved in a number of large transactions in different activity sectors, including privatization processes, working with corporate clients and private equities.

Professional background
Maria started her career at investment banking, moving to PwC in 1997. She is a Partner and responsible for Deals Tax since 2010. She is also Arbitrator Judge of the Tax Arbitration Court in Portugal.

- Postgraduate Degree in Spanish Taxation from the University of Santiago de Compostela
- MBA in Management from the Catholic University of Portugal Advanced
