What was the problem?

The manufacturing industry company's customers (distributors, resellers and producers) had limited tools to make purchases or no direct access to this manufacturing industry company's solutions. The resolution of these gaps became an opportunity to expand the company’s business and that of its customers through:

  • Increase in sales and distribution channels with the help of online shopping.
  • Direct access to all producers, regardless of size, creating new sales channels.
  • Availability of 24/7 service.
  • 360º visibility of the manufacturing industry company’s customers, making it possible to analyse their behaviours.
  • Possibility of having a dedicated multichannel portal.

What did we do?

PwC faced the challenge with an online, flexible and reusable platform that includes a set of key features for the manufacturing industry company’s business and customers:

  • Distributors have visibility of the producers’ opportunities.
  • The company has visibility of cases registered by customers.
  • Access to customer and distributor information is guaranteed to the manufacturing industry company.
  • The company and its distributors can manage demand.
  • Customer engagement is done with loyalty points, vouchers and other strategies.
  • The stocks of products available to the customer are known.
  • The integration with external ERP (by distributor) and own ERP of the manufacturing industry company (by country) was guaranteed.

How did we do it?

Two go-lives took place in 2020: one in July (Iberian market) and another in September (Brazilian market). Fifty distributors already place orders online through the Spanish portal. In Brazil, two major regional distributors allow 60 resellers to browse and buy online with discounts, campaigns and personalized marketing strategies.
