Client issue

The client in the food production sector needed a definition of a management information model for systematization of the value chain, dashboards, identification of value drivers by area, the most appropriate KPIs, and creation of dashboards available in the cloud.

Sector: Food and Beverage
Period work performed: Jul 2018 – Jun 2020

Approach:

In this engagement we formed a multidisciplinary team including business consultants, UX/UI specialists, software developers and software quality assurance specialists to analyze, design, develop and successfully deliver a solution that would meet client’s expectations, expressed through its requirements. It was used an agile approach consisting in a set of sprints, each delivering a set of high valued features that, in the end of the final sprint would make the solution. The sprints were planned based on the cost/benefit of the features represented on the products backlog. To be ready for development, each feature would have to pass through a business requirement analysis, a UX/UI design and a technical specification. The sprint itself consisted in the development and tests of the features planned. The technology used was Outsystems as a development platform and Jira as a project management support platform.

Results:

  • Detailed KPI listing with its description, calculation formula, measurement unit, priority and visualization, as well as a first screening of the existence or not of data for monitoring and respective location;
  • Provision of dashboards for the Administration, divided by business area, self-updated with financial and business information.
  • Solution that accesses several SAP modules and integrates the information in a single data repository updated on a real-time basis
  • Integration of ERP information from different business areas and group companies (financial, operational, sales, budgeting, among others)
  • Solution supported by a management information model, adjusted to the client's reality, which provides a set of indicators and dimensions of analysis relevant to the business
