Recognizing the merit in the activities of the sea and rivers is essential to restart a new cycle of sustainable development

  • Excellens Mare - Webinar Live in Portuguese and English:  July 25, 2020 - 18h30 - 19h45 Lisbon time

The constraints related with the pandemic have led to the postponement of the Excellens Mar Gala, scheduled for the city of Viana do Castelo, to a date to be defined as soon as conditions permit. However, the desire to recognise the merit of people who strive to add value to the sea and rivers remains high. The example of the many people who were at the forefront of combating the effects of the pandemic, keeping maritime transport active, maintaining marine food production, ensuring offshore energy supply, working on submarine cable communication conditions, continuing scientific research, and our defence, are among the blue activities fundamental to our development and serve to remind us of the contribution of our blue economy. In this context, we are holding a webinar that will recognise the merit of the people and entities on the blue front line around the world.

On July 25, 2020 (6:30 pm - 7:45 pm Lisbon time), live from the host city of the Excellens Mare-Viana do Castelo Gala - the Excellens Mare Jury and Mayor José Maria Costa, who have joined, virtually, leaders of the blue economy from around the world, will share their motivating experiences and inspiring visions of the future.
