Angola – AGT press release regarding the obligation to update taxpayer register for VAT purposes

In brief

The General Tax Administration (AGT) published a press release on January 4th, 2021 that aims to inform to all entities subject to the Value Added Tax (VAT) that it is mandatory to update it registration in order to duly be registered in one of the VAT taxation regimes. This rule is also foreseen for taxpayers subject to the VAT non taxation regime in order to be exempt from any tax obligations imposed by VAT. 

For that purpose, it is necessary to submit the Declaration of Start of Activity through the Taxpayer Portal (Portal de Contribuinte), or near the nearest Tax Office.
